Patrick Hedges

Hi, I'm Patrick Hedges, a passionate wildlife artist. I try to capture something different about the wildlife I paint and draw, maybe its personality, or the drama surrounding its predicament. Wildlife offers endless possibilities and has been a part of art since people could first scratch on cave walls.
I am happy to accept commissions from wildlife enthusiasts and pet owners. I can be contacted at patrickhedges@hotmail.com

A recent entry of mine in the Royal Adelaide Show's Art Purchase exhibition won the drawing category. I was very pleased with this as it was my very first ever scratchboard, a fur seal

I have just exhibited at the Urban Art Show where I sold four paintings and picked up a commission. It was a very successful show for me and I was delighted with the result, but even more delighted by the comments my work received from many people. There were ten or so artists on display and my booth was by far the most popular. I was also the only artist to sell more than one painting.

I was very happy to recently have work accepted into the Camberwell Art Show, which is ranked among the largest traditional competitions, displays and sales of paintings in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of the largest art shows in the world. I was even happier to sell this piece there.

It's hard work, researching wildlife art. You end up in all sorts of situations. Here I am checking the inside of a cheetah's mouth.
